When it comes to choosing the best alternative to travel in Japan, the JRPass is the cheapest and most comfortable way. With this pass we will access JR’s transport system throughout Japan with the exception of Nozomi and Mizuho Shinkansen.
You can choose between the JR Pass Standard, or the JR Pass Green which grants you access to first class. Once you proceed to your purchase, a voucher will be sent. You will have to go to the exchange office (See the Offices here) to redeem it for your JR Pass. You must bear in mind that you have a maximum of 3 months to use your Japan Rail Pass with which you will be able to travel during the period of time you have chosen, which can be 7, 14 or 21 days.

The Green Pass has certain advantages that cannot be obtained with an ordinary pass:
- Larger and reclining seats up to 40º, with footrests and more space between seats.
- Audio equipment in the seat.
- More space for your luggage.
- Hot towel and drink on the JR Hokkaido line as well as larger windows.
- Certain JRs have a smoking area in the Green Cars. (N700 Series)
- Private compartments on certain Limited Express trains.
- Insured seat. In the high season it is advisable to buy the Green Pass.
